Celebrating Collaboration
LabCentral’s impact is powered by community. Our residents, team, sponsors, and partners each play a role in creating the conditions where breakthrough science can grow.
Through mentorship, investment, and shared expertise, this ecosystem helps founders turn bold ideas into companies capable of changing lives.
As we close this year’s report, we extend our sincere thanks to everyone who makes this work possible.
The third annual Winning Playbook Partnership Summit, at Catalyst in Cambridge, brought together 100+ sponsors and partners for a focused day of collaboration, perspective-sharing, and strategic alignment. Designed to deepen engagement across the ecosystem, the summit paired market insight with direct exposure to resident innovation.
Through guided discussions and founder spotlights, partners explored how early-stage engagement can drive shared value—supporting startups while informing their own innovation strategies. The day reinforced LabCentral’s role as a trusted convener where partnership is forged through participation, not proximity alone.

A Legacy of Impact
You can’t talk about impact at LabCentral without talking about Mike LaRhette, our Chief Business Officer. Over more than five years here, Mike was an extraordinary leader whose kindness, curiosity, and dedication to innovation shaped LabCentral in countless ways. When he suddenly passed away this summer, our community felt the loss deeply.
Mike was a constant seeker of growth. Whether backpacking through Peru with llamas or leading a spirited game of Jenga with partners and sponsors, he used adventure and play to bring people together and build lasting connections.
Reading was one of the ways Mike pursued that growth. He loved sharing recommendations with colleagues, friends, and mentees, and no matter the challenge, Mike always seemed to have a book for it. In the spirit of his lasting impact on this community, we’re sharing a few of the titles he often recommended.
We hope they inspire reflection, curiosity, and connection along your own journey. Mike would have liked that.
