For the nearly 100 million Americans living at or near the poverty level, a winter coat is often seen as a superfluous and burdensome expense. So we’re kicking off fall by collecting donated warm winter coats in order to offer a helping hand. Each coat that is donated will be given to the local non-profit Caspar to help those who are most in need here in our own backyard. Please consider bringing in gently used jeans, wooly hats, and gloves, as well. On the final day of the drive, we’ll celebrate our community’s giving with an apple-themed cooking contest-extravaganza; you may just walk away with a prize! Contact Shazia for more details, to learn more about how to have a greater impact, and to sign up to bring your apple concoction.
