Spanning two thousand years of Chinese history, Empresses of the Ages: The Silk Legacy of Xiang Li invites visitors into a space where art and storytelling converge. Drawing on her many years working at the Forbidden City, master artist Xiang Li brings to life the stories of women who shaped empires through exquisitely detailed silk paintings. This solo exhibition features monumental silk scrolls and portrait originals created with traditional mineral pigments and time‑honored silk techniques. Her work has been showcased at cultural institutions across Massachusetts, inspiring audiences to explore Chinese history through a more personal lens. Together with her daughter and collaborator Fei Wu, she expands her mission of linking science, art, and community.
