Turn AI-Driven Science into Scalable Biotech: Apply to the AI BioHub Accelerator

Growing in the Age of AI

In life sciences, as with virtually every other industry touched by technology, artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the way that science is done and the rate at which discoveries are made. AI plays a role at each level of the R&D journey, from expediting drug discovery by quickly analyzing massive quantities of data, to ensuring proper compliance with regulatory and safety measures through automatic monitoring. Further, it’s simultaneously inspiring entirely new approaches to the work and turbocharging what teams can do.

At LabCentral, we recognize AI’s growing importance to the founders and scientists that we serve, which is why we are expanding the portfolio of tools and resources we offer to grow their companies, speed up their discoveries, and ultimately help therapies reach patients faster. Our AI BioHub is one such initiative.

What Makes the AI BioHub Accelerator Different?

With the support of Sector Spark grant funding from the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, LabCentral and C10 Labs launched the AI BioHub Accelerator Program last fall with an inaugural cohort. The combination of C10 Labs’s AI expertise and LabCentral’s facilities, programs and ecosystem enabled us to develop a program uniquely tailored to early-stage companies working at the intersection of AI and biology, and the results were inspiring.

Cohort 1, The Results Are In

The first cohort of the AI BioHub Accelerator Program consisted of 15 startups working at the intersection of AI and biotech, with 13 companies completing the program. The culmination of the first cohort was the Brilliant Collisions Showcase, where the final companies presented their work and gave speed-round pitches to a room of 150+ investors and industry partners. We’re excited to share that companies in the first cohort have raised over $8M in funding collectively as they continue their work and many are joining the LabCentral community as full residents to continue to advance their science within our shared lab space. We look forward to seeing what comes next from these innovative startups and are eagerly preparing for Cohort 2!

Cohort 2, Who Should Apply?

Beginning in March 2026, we will welcome the second group of early-stage founders focused on advancing AI-enabled biological research to improve human health and are accepting applications now. Teams with early ideas, prototypes, or scientific evidence who are looking to accelerate their business strategy and technical development are encouraged to learn more.

With 10 weeks of hands-on learning and a specially curated curriculum covering AI and machine learning models and the business of biotech, participating companies will have access to both wet lab space in LabCentral’s AI BioHub and office space at the CIC through C10. The program pairs teams directly with AI experts who support the companies, and with industry mentors who provide guidance and feedback to participants. If you think this program could be a good fit for you, please click here to complete your application now. Applications are being accepted through March 9.

And, new for this cohort is the addition of LabCentral’s recently appointed Head of Science Strategy, Kamran Tavangar. In addition to his work with existing LabCentral teams, Kamran will also be part of the team working with this cohort.
